We have been asked when Fynd will release a mobile app for Android or iPhone. At this time, we are electing not to participate in those closed mobile ecosystems.
Instead, we recommend simply bookmarking Fynd in your mobile browser and adding it to your home screen. Modern mobile browsers already provide a fast and clean experience without requiring users to install another app, create accounts, or hand over unnecessary permissions.
The larger reason is philosophical.
Closed mobile platforms operate under rules controlled entirely by a few corporations. Those companies decide what apps are allowed, what content is acceptable, what business models survive, and in some cases even what ideas are permitted to exist on their platforms. We do not believe the open web should depend on gatekeepers.
Fynd was built around openness, neutrality, and direct access to information. Participating in ecosystems where applications can be restricted, removed, censored, or forced to comply with constantly changing platform rules goes against the direction we believe the internet should move toward.
Until there are truly open third-party app stores and more freedom for developers and users alike, we will continue focusing our efforts on the web itself, the only major platform accessible to everyone.
